Expression of Interest: 2025 Bargaining/Negotiations Committee
Attention CUPE 1267 Membership:
We are seeking nominations for the 2025 Bargaining/Negotiations Committee in accordance with Section 16 of our Local Bylaws. This is an exciting opportunity for our members to get involved in shaping the future of our collective agreement and strengthening the voice of our union.
Why is This Important?
The Bargaining/Negotiations Committee plays a critical role in advocating for our collective interests. It ensures our voices are heard, secures the best possible outcomes for our members, and helps strengthen the solidarity of our union. The work of this committee will have a lasting impact, not just for today, but for future generations of workers.
Expression of Interest (EOI)
President Rimmi Purewal is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) to serve on this important committee. We encourage all interested members to apply. The appointment of committee members will be made in consultation with the Executive Board, ensuring representation from each schedule (A, B, or C) as much as possible.

Additionally, please answer the following questions:
- Why are you interested in joining the Bargaining/Negotiations Committee?
- What, if any, experience do you have with collective bargaining, negotiations, or contract discussions?
- How do you handle conflict or differing opinions, especially in high-stakes or tense situations?
- Can you commit to attending all meetings and training sessions, as needed, and being an active participant in the negotiation process?
- What is your understanding of our current Collective Agreement, and can you suggest one area that requires improvement?
Selection Process
Final appointments will be made and communicated to the selected members in writing no later than February 15th, 2025.
