CUPE 1267 Scholarship & Bursary
The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 1267 City of Mission is offering a scholarship of $1,000 and $750, as well as a bursary, to graduating students of Mission Secondary School. The CUPE Scholarship Committee will select the successful candidate(s) from the applications received, and the names of the recipients will be announced at the Graduation Ceremonies in May/June. This scholarship is open to all students who are planning to pursue further education at any post-secondary institution, such as a university, college, business school, trade school, beautician school, tourism school, or aviation school. Funds will be sent to the educational institution upon proof of tuition payment. To qualify for the bursary, the parent (or guardian) of the dependent applicant, or the applicant themselves, must be a member of CUPE Local 1267 and entering or attending a recognized post-secondary institution. A copy of the acceptance letter (or proof of enrollment) from the admitting institution must be attached. High academic standing is not necessarily the deciding criteria when awarding this scholarship, and the recipient must enter an approved post-secondary institution within a year of the award, or the scholarship will be withdrawn.
